Helping Me Get a Wii
Dear Compatriots,
As many of you know, my dear wife loves to drink Diet Coke. She consumes vast quantities every day. We're not in the realm of gallons, but are in the range of 30-50 oz. daily. I've tried to get her to cut back, telling her that she needs to drink more water, that all the carbonation and acid aren't good for her health. This seemed to only worsen the problem, strengthening the pull upon her.
So I've decided that if I can't beat her, I'll join her.
I've decided this because of mycokerewards.com, a website which you enter the codes found under the caps and inside of the 12 & 24 packs of cans. I've got my heart set on a Nintendo Wii, which is a mere 6250 points. As of this writing I've got 99 points. This only leaves me with 6151 points left.
This is were you come in. For me to save up that many point on my own it would take me years of drinking 12 cans a day. (No, Caryn, that is not a good idea.) I am not asking you to buy any more Coke products than you already do, just that if you do, to please keep the codes to pass on to me. You can either save the caps (the 12 packs have the code printed inside the part you open) and give them to me when you see me, or you can simply type them into an email and send them to me at navis206@yahoo.com.
Also, tell your family, tell your friends and enemies, co-workers, church members, scout leader, den mother, priest, doctor, teacher, boss, bum, and mailman and get them to give you their codes. And remember, its not only Diet Coke, its all variety of Coke as well as Sprite, Fanta, Vault, Minute Maid or any other of the fine line of products.
I know that there are plenty of good causes to devote your energy toward, but I've had a rough year not finding work (Oh yeah, I'm playing the "looking-for-work-and-am-stressed-out-card") and it would be a major accomplishment for me to mobilize people all over the country to send me their codes.
I will keep you updated as to my point total and you will be welcome to come over and play our new Wii whenever you want!

Now, I could be wrong about this (as I actually know nothing about Coke Rewards or Wii), but wouldn't it be less expensive to go without the Coke, and just buy the Wii?
And, think of your health in the "long run". (That was an obvious play on words for the runner. I can't sermonize here, as I drink Coke as well.)
Hey - Did you check your email yet? How many points are you up to?
If I may be so bold - I'd suggest changing your set-up in Blogger so that posts include the date, rather than merely the time of day.
Hey - I know you were writing with a wry smile upon your face - but I don't have a use for our Coke Rewards points. If you really don't want them, I'll send them elsewhere. Otherwise, I've got more to send your way.
You haven't posted here in over a month - how are things going for you?
